MicroPatent Materials Patents

The importance of rapid access to patent literature for all engineering disciplines - and especially for the materials science and engineering fields - is widely recognized. To help you in keeping up with the latest patents related to materials science and engineering, your search of the CSA Technology Research Database, CSA Materials Research Database with METADEX, or any of CSA-MRD's subfiles retrieves patents directly related to your area of interest from the MicroPatent Materials Patents database, in addition to our bibliographic records.

When you search the CSA-TRD or anywhere within the CSA-MRD, this supplemental database is searched simultaneously. If the search produces any matches to your regular CSA Illumina search, you will see the choice for "MicroPatent Materials Patents." By clicking on this choice, you will find abstracts of patents related to your CSA Illumina search.

The MicroPatent Materials Patents database supplements CSA Illumina by providing monthly updates of US, European (EP) and Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) patents that are directly related to your area of interest. The contents of the database are drawn from the MicroPatent database using a carefully structured series of searches. This supplemental database provides the most up-to-date and efficient way of reviewing pertinent patent information.

    AB: Abstract
A method of manufacturing a TV product of glass, such as a TV screen or a TV cone, in which method a blob of a viscous glass is introduced at a high temperature into a mould, whereafter a plunger is pressed with a required pressure into the viscous glass to obtain the desired shape of the product, after which the product is cooled to room temperature. In the manufacture, the plunger remains in contact with the product until the product is dimensionally stable, which is obtained by choosing the ratio between the time period during which the plunger is in contact with the product and the time period during which the product remains in the mould to be greater than 0.5 and smaller than 1.
